The Skinny on Success by Jim Randel
‘The Skinny on Success Book Review
Author: Jim Randel
I just finished The Skinny on Success by Jim Randel. I have read more than a dozen books about success. What I like about The Skinny On Success is that it takes away all the fluff and just delivers the good stuff. Using simple stories and stick figures (yes I said stick figures), Jim Randel has packaged the entire concept of success into bite size tidbits that are easy to read and understand. While it may not please everyone to read what amounts to a cartoon, it does an amazing job at delivering what is promised. Instead of reading hundreds of pages that may not even relate to the subject, you will only have to follow a few characters on their journey to find success. I found the format to be quite refreshing, and it also makes it quite easy to go back and touch up on a few points when necessary. But, the book isn’t all about the characters of the story. The Skinny on Success also gives us lots of examples of perseverance using big names that you know such as Stephen King, John Grisham, Brian Williams, and more. These little side stories serve as reminders that while we may sometimes only see the success others have attained, we do not always give them credit for their work because we rarely know the whole story. We learn that most people who are successful worked very hard to be great at their chosen profession. The idea being that if they can do it, so can you. I was quite happy with the book, and I think it’s wonderful for everyone. I think the format would also be great for anyone who doesn’t enjoy reading, and we all know a few of those…
